How does Easylax® work?
Easylax® suppositories for infants, children and adults help to facilitate bowel movements in infants, the elderly, bedridden patients and patients with hemorrhoids and pain during defecation. Easylax® suppositories work by extracting water from the intestines and transferring it to the stool. Glycerin stimulates the contraction of the muscles of the intestine, which helps the movement of stool and facilitates its exit from the body, and also provides a lubricating effect on the inside of the rectum. It softens and moistens stools, facilitates bowel movement through soft stools.
Easylax® has three stages of action – softens, stimulates and lubricates.
EASYLAX® Glycerin Suppositories provide immediate and effective relief of occasional constipation within 15 minutes to 1 hour. Glycerin belongs to a class of drugs known as hyperosmotic laxatives. It works by drawing water into the intestines. This effect usually results in a bowel movement within 15 to 60 minutes.
Absorbtion
Glycerin attracts and absorbs water in the intestines, which helps soften and moisten the stool.
Stimulation
It stimulates the contractions of the intestinal muscles, which helps the movement of feces and facilitates their exit from the body.
Lubrication
It provides a lubricating effect on the inside of the rectum, which further facilitates bowel movements.
What is constipation?
Constipation is a condition that is characterized by delayed bowel movements and difficult bowel movements. A person is generally considered to be constipated when small amounts of hard, dry stools are passed less than three times a week.
What are the signs of constipation?
Symptoms of constipation include:
- Less than three bowel movements per week.
- Hard, dry and/or lumpy stools.
- Difficult or painful stools.
- Abdominal pain or cramping.
- Swelling and/or nausea.
- Feeling of incomplete bowel movement.
What causes constipation?
Some causes of constipation include:
- Dietary changes.
- Trips.
- Insufficient water intake.
- Insufficient fiber intake.
- Consuming a lot of dairy products.
- Ignoring the urge to have a bowel movement.
- Stress.
- Advanced age.
- Intestinal obstruction.
- Certain medicines such as pain relievers, antidepressants, antihistamines, blood pressure medicines, epilepsy medicines and medicines containing iron.
- Antacid medications that contain calcium or aluminum.
- Eating disorders.
- Irritable bowel syndrome.
- Pregnancy.
- Nerve and muscle problems in the digestive system.
- Colon cancer.
- Neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis.
- Underactive thyroid gland (called hypothyroidism).
- Excess calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) due to overactive parathyroid glands, medications for various types of oncology, and other causes.
method of use
Easylax® suppositories for infants, children and adults are indicated for constipation (constipation), visceral hypersensitivity (irritable bowel syndrome), hemorrhoids and anal fissures, for pregnant and lactating women, for bed rest, for impaired peristalsis.
Easylax® suppositories are easy to use and effective for constipation. Wash your hands thoroughly before use. If the suppository is soft, cool it for a few minutes. Lie on your side with your leg slightly bent to your chest. Unroll and carefully insert the pointed end into the anus, using water or lubricant as needed. Hold in place for a few minutes and lie down for 15-20 minutes to dissolve completely.
Dosage: One suppository of 2500 mg is used for adults, and 1500 mg for children, once a day or according to a doctor’s prescription. If there is no bowel movement within an hour, consult a doctor.
Warnings: Please read the instructions for use carefully! If you do not understand something or have further questions, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Save it because you may need to read it again.
The product is suitable for pregnant women, nursing mothers, bedridden patients and the elderly. Use only rectally. Do not use in case of acute abdominal pain or allergy to the ingredients. Store in a dry and cool place, away from children. Easylax® provides fast and safe relief from constipation.
